I worked about 45-50 hours this week, and every evening was booked. It must have been too much for me - now I am exhausted and sick again. Maybe I just need some rest.
We started off our Saturday morning doing some major Spring cleaning and taking some big stuff to the dump, like an old sofa and a broken dishwasher... we were also supposed to take our broken washer to the dump, but when N unscrewed the hose from the washer to the pipes in our bathroom, out came this huge whooosh of water at an enormous pressure and started literally filling our entire bathroom with water. We panicked and didn't know what to do since we couldn't turn the pipe off. So I frantically called the Holmgrens who live close by and asked Ingemar to come over because of an emergency and he biked over as fast as he could...
Within a few minutes there was about 2 inches of standing water in the bathroom, and increasing fast (N completely soaked by this time). Thankfully we had a high threshold to our bathroom (which many people have stubbed their toes on), and it hadn't yet overflowed to the rest of the apartment. Just as the water crested the threshold and started to pour into the hallway, Ingemar was able to somehow shut off the pipe shooting all the water out. It was crazy.
Afterwards I wish I had taken a picture (wouldn't have been appropriate at the time!) but I did find a photo that pretty much sums up what was happening (on a somewhat smaller scale) in our bathroom:
Some Bible school students from Uppsala are visiting our church this weekend and helping out with different outreaches, and we have invited them all over for dinner tomorrow, so we will be using our handy grill again. The weather here has literally been ideal the entire week and should be all weekend. Hard to enjoy it when I am sick, though!

Oh my goodness!! I bet that was quite a mess. At least it was clean water, and not a backed-up sewer pipe or something... Still, not fun.
Is is okay if I wish you a happy mother's day, Katie?
Happy Mother's Day!
I imagine that you may be a mom already, though you have not yet seen your baby's face. I wish you a happy day of anticipation while you're still waiting. (And waiting and waiting.)
Glad Pingst!

I'm quite glad to hear that the weather has been better than in previous months. I am not glad to hear that you had The Great Flood of '08 in your apartment. I hope your weekend was good, dry, and illness free!
