Getting settled in

We have been home as a family of 3 for a few days now, trying to develop some routines but not really succeeding. There are just so many people to see and so many things to do!

Esther loves to meet new people! It is one of her favorite things to do.

We have also been busy doing the practical stuff that goes along with the adoption process - doctor's appointments, the population registry, paternity leave paperwork, all kinds of stuff that isn't exactly exciting but that has to get done.

Esther is starting to show signs of wanting to crawl, and she might just be crawling in her bed because we never know where she might be in that bed when we get up to check on her! She is a wriggly wiggly.

My favorite part of the day has become that time in the morning where Esther has been awake for awhile, cooing to herself, and then I get up to tell her good morning and see the look on her face when she sees me. It is the greatest! It makes getting up out of the bed something wonderful to look forward to every day!

Here are some pictures from today:

Glad to see your getting settled in. I like the picture of Esther playing with her gym; she looks like she's having so much fun!

    What's the population registry?

  3. Yeah I know that feeling of not having a routine! I think when I eventually have a kiddo, we'll be like, "Routine? What's that?" Our only routine will be how much different we can make today than yesterday! Which I suppose might be an acceptable routine! Anyway, hopefully you'll succeed better than I ever will at creating predictability and consistency!
