Esther's Lovey

I would like to introduce you to Lovey the Lion, an important member of our household...


My mom made this for Esther out of soft fleece and Esther's first encounter with him was on her first night in the US, where he was waiting for her in the crib at my parents' house.

Since that day Lovey the Lion has been her sleep companion ever since. She grabs onto him the moment we lay her down in the bed, and while she is sleeping she is either holding onto him tight with her free hand (she sucks her left thumb when sleeping) or has him covering her face.
They are quite the pair!

I wonder how long he will last, both in terms of his own lifetime before he starts to come apart, and how long Esther will find it necessary to hold onto him as she sleeps.
