May 16 - the day of the Very Important Phone Call

One year ago on this date, at 10:51 a.m., my cell phone rang with a very important phone call.
It was the adoption agency calling to let us know that there was a baby girl in South Africa who was waiting for us - us! - to come get her.

There are a lot of things I remember about that phone call and the details surrounding it. I wrote about it a few hours after it happened, if you want to read about that (here).

Soon after Niklas and I came home together that afternoon we opened up the e-mail from the agency with her photo and background info, and this is what we saw:
A pretty baby girl who, we were just starting to finally get our minds around it, was our daughter.

I took some photos at lunch today, just so I could show off this little girl whom I have now known about for exactly one year.
