Useless but interesting facts

I'm in the middle of a computer project called BioInformatics Lab right now, and it is a bit too tempting to take a break and write on the blog instead...

First of all, my brother's birthday was yesterday and it is important that everyone know that! Happy Birthday Nathaniel!

All this past weekend we were at a neat little cabin with our friends Patrick and Malin. It was about an hour and a half away, on the east coast, relatively close to the ocean as well as a bunch of lakes. It wasn't quite spring there yet, but I can imagine that it gets very very beautiful there in the summer.

It was nice to get away for awhile and spend a lot of time with friends. It was really chilly, but we went for long walks anyway. On Saturday night another couple came over whom I had never met and we barbecued chicken, talked and played a board game. It was fun! It was so cool when we prayed together at the end of the evening. Three different couples, all in different situations and phases of marriage, but all relying on God and convinced of His goodness, no matter what. We are human and we go through rough stuff that life throws at us, but God is good.

Today Niklas teaches at the Bible school in Lund. I think he has four 40 minute lessons. He will probably write about it later on...

God has been talking to me about taking small "baby" steps to get to where I want to be. I mean spiritually. Instead of some huge gigantic breakthrough leap, the way I would want it, this time it is going to take smaller steps, maybe one a day, that will eventually get me to my sub-destination. Steps of obedience. Where I do something that I really would rather not do in my selfishness and stubbornness. So far I have realized that these baby steps of obedience really do add up to a big step that is starting to get me where I want to go. It is slow going, but it is always forward.

Anyway, here are some other useless random facts about my life at the moment!

Listening to right now: Third Day - Wire + just finished listening to Five for Fighting

Reading right now: Isaiah and a Swedish magazine called Internet World

What I can see out the window right now: the maintenance guys finally getting around to mowing the grass outside our apartment

The weather right now: in celsius, about 12 degrees (chilly) but it is sunny at least.

Most frequently visited webpages: CNN.com, my friends' blogs, torrent pages.

Most recently watched TV program: we put our TV in the closet, but we watch soccer about once or twice a week.

Most positive thing that happened this week: having a weekend out of town with friends.

Most negative thing that happened this week: we got gas at a gas station that was WAY more expensive than the next gas station we drove by. Aaahhhhh! I hate that! Especially with the gas prices here!!! But it's ok, I am over it.

Next planned purchase (besides normal everyday stuff like food): Niklas really wants roller blades. I really need new CD-Rs.

Something that makes me feel really blessed: my relationship with Niklas.

Projects that I am working on: a video describing/portraying Pioneer Missions' ministry + thinking about creative things to do for the next time I teach kids' Sunday school + planning our time in the US this summer + figuring out how to file our taxes (they are due in next week) + cleaning out our balcony.

Something that makes me proud: my mom and dad.

Most recent random act of kindness: I gave a guy my place in line at the bank.

Tacka dig för inte träffande folk den min åldern. Få var god baksida till ditt arbete. Var god låt inte mig se Niklas som använder rollerblades. Allt det är.

The brother attempting to use Sarah's translation program.

That was about the funniest comment I have EVER read. Please do continue to use that translation program to write Swedish comments because it definitely gives me something to laugh at!!!
