Excuse my long absence...I have had more than a bit too much to do lately, in school especially. Our mega exam takes place two weeks from today and it seems like the whole course is just culminating in more and more to do (a presentation, a lab write-up, group work and studying). The exam this time will not even be in the written form, which has its pros and cons. We will have to present an article and prove that we know everything about Molecular Cell Biology. Should be interesting.
God's Super School (the name of our kids' sunday school) has been going well. Two weeks ago we learned that Jesus gives sight to the blind and that he is the Light of the World. Last week we learned how Jesus healed the guy who was let in through the roof. We made a Bible times house out of toast and chocolate butter (as the "glue") and then cut a whole in the roof and let in a "lame guy" who happened to be a peanut (in the shell) with a sad face drawn on it. We also learned that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life by doing this hip hop dance and rap that I came up with by the great grace of God (hip hop dances and rap not being my forté).
We have had incredibly lovely weather here, plus all the leaves are at their peak of fall color, so it is a joy to bike to and from school every day (which takes 45 minutes each way). So I am getting lots of exercise as well as enjoying God's beautiful creation, all at once! (Plus I save money on a bus card).
A few days ago I had an interesting experience. I felt led to imagine each of my closest friends laughing really hard at something. It was a very uplifting experience! I recommend trying that some time. Really focus and let that fill your thoughts for awhile - it is a great way to be filled with thankfulness and joy!

I loved reading about your "hands-on" Bible lesson! I bet the kids in God's Super School will remember that story forever because of Mr. Lame Peanut and the toast house.
Do you use any particular curriculum for God's Super School or do you come up with the lessons from scratch?
Katie, this Sunday our sermon was about the story of the man being brought through the roof. It made me think of your blog and I smiled. I imagined the food and got hungry. :)
