Five hours after I got back from the US yesterday I started making Thanksgiving dinner for 25 people! Today we had “Thanksgiving Theme” at Niklas’ school. It had been put off until today since I was gone for the funeral. Niklas and I fixed turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, gravy and chocolate pie and cheesecake for the students and teachers. I explained Thanksgiving from two points of view: historical background and modern traditions. It went really well and all of the students seemed thankful for the food, which is good since thankfulness is the integral part of Thanksgiving! For some of them it was the first time they had tried turkey.
