My big huge mega course in molecular medicine is now officially OVER and done with.
Yesterday I had the second part of the exam, which was an oral exam and a presentation of my latest research proposal. It went well! Since I passed both the written part and the oral part and my research proposal was acceptable, that means I have passed the class - a big accomplishment!
On Monday I start my 10 week research project, which will investigate T cell responses to autologous and heterologous type II collagen in humanized mice susceptible to rheumatoid arthritis. Sounds kind of sci-fi doesn't it?! If you don't hear from me for more than a week it may be because one of the humanized mice has taken revenge on me giving it arthritis.......

CONGRATS! That's awesome! Hey, I got to tell my kids all about your postive TB test this past week. Midway thru it they were really worried about you! LOL Monday we discuss T Cells! So, I will have to tell them about your research at that time! Fun! Congrats again!
Wow. Sounds.... fascinating! I'm very happy for you that you'll soon be done.
Then what happens? Do you have plans for a particular job or research position?
So what exactly is a humanized mouse and how do you create them?
