Niklas' "mormor" (grandmother on his mother's side) passed away this morning.
She was about to turn 92 years old and is survived by her 3 daughters Maj-Britt, Lillvor & Mona and their families. As a believer and servant of Jesus Christ, she has now joined her husband Fritz in heaven before the face of God.
Dagmar was an amazing woman. She cared for her family in tough circumstances on the island all of her life, never complaining and always showing love and compassion to her family and to her neighbors. She was a true friend to everyone who knew her, and a wonderful "mormor" to many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
She will be missed by everyone whose day was lightened by her smiles and her bear hugs. In her final months of life she changed the atmosphere of the nursing home she had been brought to by playing and viewing worship concerts with the others, and encouraging them to take Communion.
We who are still here on earth are joyful that she is now in a place of peace and of perfection, gazing on the face of her Savior forever!

Niklas and Katie, I'm so sorry that you lost your grandmother. Words cannot express the hole that is left in your heart when it feels like someone you love is gone "forever". I agree with you that at least REAL FOREVER means that she'll be with Jesus! I can't wait to meet her when I get there!
I will never forget how welcoming she was to me the first time I met her at her home. She gave me a scarf she had embroidered; it says, in Swedish, "God is love." It is hard to let go of those we love. My prayers are with all of the Lorentzons. ejdb
I second Beth's comments. It is hard losing that loved one here and now and we have to keep reminding ourselves that we will be reunited in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

I'm sorry for your loss, and so glad you have the comfort of knowing she's with Jesus.
Ah, sorry to hear that. Still, like w/ my great-aunt that just passed away, I find it so awesome to know that they are in a place that none of us can even imagine. It's incredible that God allowed her to touch others' lives for a full 93 years, though. Pretty amazing.
Niklas,
She sounds like a wonderful woman of God and I know that she must have been a wonderful grandmother to you. I know you will miss her while you are here on the earth and I'm sorry for that. I am praying for a wonderful time of remembrance of an incredible woman, and a relieving time of mourning for your loss, for you and your family.
I'm sorry for her loss to you here on earth, but grateful for the gain of heaven!
May God give you comfort in grief.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments!
--Niklas
