so I thought I would give a short Lorentzon update.
>>Niklas was back to work on August 13th and has been enjoying the new school year. He really loves his job and gets along well with his team at work. He has also started a university correspondence course in Psychology and finds it interesting. The books are all in English so it will be a great way for him to learn new things and practice for our extended stay in the States next year. He will continue with floor ball twice a week (even though he nearly fractured his rib last week) and badminton once a week, and be a pastor on top of all that!
>>Last weekend we were at the island for Niklas’ grandma’s funeral. It was a both a beautiful day and a beautiful service. It was a blessing to be able to see the amazing fruit of her life in the people that were gathered there. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. I am thankful for the 5 years that I got to have with her because seeing her way of caring about the well-being of other people is something that I want to emulate.
Other news: Our church has moved into its new premises! Now we are located right smack dab in the middle of an enormous apartment village. We have had fun decorating our new place and making it look inviting and welcoming for all th
e new people we are going to meet. Last weekend we had our grand opening, where we had a free cookout in the courtyard and free cake in the basement for anyone who wanted to come
check out who we were and what we thought we were doing there! Way more people came than I ever would have expected! It was really encouraging to us as a church and very promising of things to come. God’s Super School has the potential of drawing LOTS of kids, and I mean LOTS. I bought a bunch of candy today in preparation for that! Plus I have ordered some cool Sunday school supplies to decorate the Sunday school space with.
>>I have spent the month of August doing things that bring home the bacon. For example, working at Ludesi as a project manager, selling ad spots on my adoption blog, and doing huge translation projects that pay insane amounts of money. So August has been quite lucrative. God is good.
>>On Monday I start my new masters’ course called “The Lung: from the clinic to the lab”, in which I will become a leading expert on everything having to do with that most exciting human organ, the lung. I think it will mostly be lots of time in the lab, running experiments and such.
but that will have to wait until the time has come!
We feel ready, REALLY ready, and wish more than anything
right now that the phone call was just around the corner.
But it *will* come!

Thanks for the updates, Katie! Praying for you, your church, the new educational opportunities--and of course, your baby :)
I had no idea your church was moving. That's so wonderful. Enjoy your study of the lung. By the way, why is it the most exciting organ? I'm personally a fan of the pancreas.
Sounds like things are going well. Glad to hear it!
Love you both, miss you both, want to come visit the new church meetin' place -- maybe Rev Ev would speak! from "Nai Nai"
Katie, you probably don't remember but I have this very vivid memory of us dissecting frogs in IEC and one of the guys (maybe Robert Schuman?) blowing up his frog's lung like a balloon!
