If the repercussions of this post are anything like the previous one, then I have calculated that there should be approximately 3,603 comments by Saturday night (just kidding).
Anyone want an update? Anyone?
Well, here comes one anyway.
I passed my exam in Clinical Statistics with no problems. I learned a lot, but now I can hardly remember any of it.
The class I am taking now is called Clinical Genetics and I don’t think I have ever disliked a subject as much as I dislike this one. There are several reasons for this:
-One is that the sun has remained hidden for the past five weeks and I am having trouble recalling what a sunray feels like.
-Another is that it is really advanced subject matter that is giving me a hard time.
-Another is that it is a lot of advanced math. Yes, I took AP Calculus. That was in 1997.
-Another is that we have had 3 straight hours of lecture five days in a row, followed by calculation exercises for 2 straight hours five days in a row.
Things are going great with Vernon. He has been in a great mood the past two weeks. All he wants for Christmas is a Batman costume and a Spiderman costume.
Sometimes God’sSuperSchool drives me bonkers. Sometimes it is very rewarding. But mostly bonkers. This coming Sunday we are having a Christmas concert and are expecting lots of people to come.
We are going to spend Christmas with Niklas’ family on the island. I always look forward to our time there. My favorite Swedish Christmas foods are ham with potato salad. Niklas has about 43 favorites.
I get new glasses next week! And prescription sunglasses (I know, I know...I won’t be using them for awhile, but still!). I will post a picture of me in my new glasses (but not in the Hat).
The equivalent of PBS here has been showing quite a few documentaries about South Africa that have given me a lot of insight into a lot of things. We have recorded them so that we can show our child some different aspects of his/her birthplace. South Africa is such an amazing country in so many ways. I really really really look forward to going there, for more than just the one main reason.
Niklas has been really busy at work – he is really bringing home the bacon. He still has a lot of pain from his tooth incident, but that hasn’t stopped him from playing floorball and badminton each week.
Last Sunday he preached an encouraging message about how we are ambassadors for the Kingdom of God, using many analogies from real-life embassies and ambassadors.

I completely sympathize with your lack of sunshine. I, too, am prone to SAD. I doubt it, but if it's any consolation, it's been a little hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it's 70 degrees outside. But take heart! Today it is 50 and overcast... a little bit of Sweden has arrived in Virginia.
ggggrrrrrrrr......
:o)
just out of curiosity, what about the story in The Washington Post today concerning the South African police stopping an armed "money truck" heist by shooting EVERY member of the 21-man gang?
and then everybody gets on the radio and says "Kill More of Them!"
ugh.
It sounds like your everyday life holds a variety of rewarding experiences. Even if things like clinical genetics and God'sSuperSchool don't seem all that great at this time. It just reminds me of George Washington and the many things he went through in his life that, at the time, seemed either mundane and pointless or were downright unpleasant, but ended up having such a profound purpose in his ability to fulfill all the plans God had for him. (Okay, so have I mentioned to you that I think G.W. was way cool?)
Glad to hear that Niklas isn't letting his toother keep him down! Go Niklas! Wish I could have been there to hear you preach. I'm adding "Hear Niklas preach." to my list of "Things I've Just Got To Do". In fact, it's one ahead of "Jump into a big vat of mashed potatoes." (Wonder which will happen first?)
3,599 to go....
I commented on the last one, I am not commenting here. :)
