Overheard on Tarragon Street

Lately Esther has been very concerned about others' emotional well-being. She has learned about what it is to be happy, sad, mad, and scared.

Yesterday a little spider was crawling across the kitchen floor. Esther leaned over, looked at it very closely and asked it in all sincerity: "Are you happy?"

Then, as Pappa was carrying some chairs downstairs Esther called up to him, "Är det farligt, Pappa?" ("Is it dangerous?")

(Also, whenever she meets a lady who is at least 70 years old, she always reaches out to stroke the lady's cheek very softly several times.)
