Sylvia!

Wow, I wish I could explain how much Sylvia's speech has developed in just a few short weeks, or sometimes it seems just in a few short days. She is the kind of child who didn't really speak coherently for the longest time, hardly even putting words together, and then all of a sudden one day she started speaking in complete sentences! Out of nowhere! I had heard of this phenomenon, but actually watching it happen has been quite fascinating and intriguing!
Sylvia has had trouble hearing ever since we adopted her, and that has been part of her problem, especially with pronunciation, but also just with interest in speaking in general. But in the past - I don't know, two weeks maybe? - she talks quite clearly and often in complete sentences. Go Sylvia! I am so proud of her.

There are lots of things about Sylvia that make me so proud, but I will save those for her birthday post, coming up next week. Soon she will be 3!
