My mom is here visiting me! We have had lots of fun and adventures. We have walked the streets of Lund, watched a couple of movies, made a fancy dinner together, baked American/Swedish cookies, gone to a shopping mall, painted canvases, met with different people in the church, gone for walks, and tomorrow we will take a 3 hour train ride to Göteborg and spend the day in that city, shopping and going into art museums, on the way up to Niklas' island where he is going to have a youth retreat with 22 teenagers! Mom and I will be in charge of helping with the food for the weekend.
Here is one photo: the canvas that mom painted. She painted it horizontally but realized when she looked at it after awhile that it was meant to be placed on the wall vertically. She painted "free form" as she called it, meaning she just went ahead and started mixing colors and painting without having a plan. I, on the other hand, simply must have a plan, so I sat there staring at my canvas, listening to worship music and reading the Bible, awaiting some form of inspiration that I could turn into a plan. I ended up just doing that the whole time my mom painted, so I haven't started yet. Although I DO have a plan now, and it will be a painting inspired by the life of Hezekiah!

Your visit with your mom sounds so nice! Almost unreal! You have such a great relationship with your mom; it's almost unreal to think that you actually spend such amazing quality time together. I praise God that she was able to come and visit you. Please post your painting also when it's complete!Goodness...your home must have a painting annointing on it. First Niklas' and the wall and table...then your mom...now you! Wow! I need to come visit to get some inspiration!
I hope the rest of your visit is wonderful!
Okay you have inspired me to take on art. Well actually my sister Debbie was the first inspiration. Well Sarah had a part in it as well. Your mom as well. Oh and God is the ultimate artist. Well, I guess what I am saying is I am going to get some paints and go nuts!!
How amazing that she painted it horizontally and it's such a beautiful picture vertically! It's incredible. I love art, mostly because I have very little artistic talent.
