a brief update...

A Brief Update:

I am alive.

My mice are not.

All of them have now been sacrificed for the sake of science.

Only a few days left of research work, then a week of writing a report on my findings, and then I will be done with this 10 week internship. It has been one of the most challenging things I have done in a long time (for many different reasons that I won’t go into now). Niklas said he would buy us some champagne to celebrate once I finally made it through this experience (I told him I would prefer chocolate).

My next class will most likely be Bioinformatics, which is basically learning about all the computer programs and Internet resources available to research scientists. I have decided to try to bike to school every day starting then. It takes about 45 minutes each way.

Otherwise life is moving faster than the speed of light for us. A bit hard to keep up. God’s Super School is going well. We finished our theme of God is Love and have moved onto Jesus having the Name above all names. CK Mix is also going well. The theme there is Friendship.

The weather hasn’t turned here yet, but yesterday, for one brief moment, I caught the slightest hint that spring is around the corner. Plus some of our little yellow bulbs have poked up out of the dirt. We are going to spend a lot more time on turning parts of our yard into a garden this year. Niklas really wants to plant carrots and we both want to harvest new potatoes around June/July. Among other things, like herbs, etc.

We have also decided to put down a new floor in our bedroom to make it pretty. Definitely a springtime project.

Alright, off to the lab! I have some ELISAs to run!
