A traditional Uzbeki meal

On Saturday night we had a true cultural experience -
Mati and her Uzbeki friend fixed us a big huge Uzbeki meal!!!
There was SO much food and she had prepared it for us the entire day.
There was rice and vegetables with lamb meat (called plouf),
a succulent fresh vegetable salad,
fresh fruit with caramel sauce,
amazing bread that tasted like donuts(!)
and hot tea to drink.
For dessert she had made an American chocolate cake!

Mati gave me a traditional silk Uzbeki dress
that I had to wear during the dinner
(though I decided not to wear the pantaloons).
Malin received a nice scarf.
Everything was delicious!

yay! pretty dress! do you like it? will you ever wear it again? or was it just a "loaner" for the dinner?

And wow... that's quite the display of food... no wonder it took all day!

that's so cool! you could be a food menu writer. have you ever thought of that lucrative career? i've heard there's a high demand for swedish translations of foods on menus.
